Once in a Lifetime

They met his grandma in Salt Lake at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (JSMB). To her this was just a fun date to Temple Square to do some baptisms before they headed off to the Village where she lives, but for him this was so much more. Little did she know her life would change forever that night. His grandma gave them a tour of the JSMB with their final stop at the tenth floor next to the restaurant, The Garden. As she left she reminded them that the fountain only comes on, on the hour every hour. They ate dinner, mostly in silence, until he made the comment that the timing couldn’t be any more perfect. A little confused she asked what he was talking about and his response was that the sunset was so beautiful. The whole night at dinner he had a huge smile on his face and she could not get it out of him why. He just kept telling her that he would tell her later. This seemed to suffice her.

After they finish eating they go for a walk around Temple Square where they stop at THE fountain. He looks at his watch and sounding put out says that they still have 22 minutes before the fountain comes on. She is chilled to the bone and hopes that they aren’t going to sit and wait for the fountain to come on. Much to her relief they start walking again. They come to two statues and a fountain, they stop to look at the statues then go and sit on the edge of the fountain facing the beautiful Temple. As she sits there and gazes at the Temple he turns to her telling her that he has a secret for her. “Oh really?” she asks. “Well you know how I told you I would tell you after I talked to your parents? Well I did,” he says. She is so confused and doesn’t try and hide it by the look on her face. He tells her that he had already talked to her parents then proceeds to pull something out of his pocket and gets down on his knee. “I have enjoyed getting to know you. I love you so much. You mean so much to me and I want to spend the rest of forever with you. Will you marry me?” he asks. She just sits there staring at him flabbergasted. Eventually she nods her head, eyes wide open in shock. “What am I doing? Say something!” she thinks. “Yes,” she replies very monotonous.

This was the happiest moment in both of their lives. She found her Prince Charming and he found his Princess. “Be with me forever?” he asks her. “Of course,” she replies. She gets all teary eyed, they kiss, and the rest is history.

That's the word on the streets, I'm engaged! I got engaged to Scott Brandon Henslee on the 18th of April. I am pretty much the happiest girl alive!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away...

Wow has it been a long time or what?! You know I really don't have any excuses on why I haven't been keeping up on this blog. I am just lazy I guess. My life is just so boring I figure no one wants to hear about my everyday happenings. Let's see what has happened in the past month that may be interesting to hear about?? Well I go to school and work and that's about it.

Ok so they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away right? I decided I need to start eating an apple a day then because I have been to the doctor 4 times in the past 2 1/2 weeks and to the hospital once. Hating needles with a passion is really hard when 3 out of the four times you go to the doctor they have to stick one in you! I got my blood drawn 3 times and my finger pricked 3 times. The doctor finally came to the conclusion that I have hypoglycemia and he put me on a strict diet. It is hard to go on a diet of no sugar when sugar was practically your main food group! Ha ha no just kidding but I love sugar!

To make matters worse, Saturday night I started not being able to breathe very well and my chest hurt. I tried to hide it like I always do because I don't like people to know when I don't feel good but I made a promise to Scott I would tell him when I don't feel good. He asked me what I was thinking and that was the end of it...I had to tell him it was hard to breathe. He got worried and then it got worse and worse. A little bit later my mom called me to tell me about an accident in Grantsville that killed three people and seriously injured one. She could tell something was wrong. She asked and I reluctantly told her. She tried to get me to go to the doctor along with Scott. I refused. Scott and I headed to Wal-Mart to get some milk for breakfast in the morning and while we were there I got a call from my father. He was worried and mad that I wouldn't go to the doctor. He finally talked me into it and Scott took me to the ER. We got there around 10:30 and they did many tests and x-rays. They made me change into a gown (ick! How unattractive is that!) and I got to be poked and prodded and tested and just about everything in the book to try and figure out what was wrong with me. Well the doctor couldn't find anything wrong except that I was hyperventilating and that I needed to calm down. I don't know why I was hyperventilating. We didn't get home til about 1:30-1:45 in the morning. Everyone was so worried about me. I think Scott was afraid to leave me when we got back to my apartment.

The next day (Sunday) Scott came to pick me up for church. I think he was still a little worried and he didn't believe me when I told him I was fine. He has a hard time believing me when I tell him I am fine because I always say that even if I'm not. I'm kind of stubborn like that and I don't think that will ever change. I don't like to tell people when I am sick or when I need something because I like to be independent and not rely on others to take care of me. That is one thing Scott hates because he wants to be able to help me but he can't if I won't tell him when something is wrong.

So the suggestion for me...eat an apple a day so if you ever have any spare apples lying around I won't mind if you send it my way!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Valentines day started out just like any other day...Stayed up til all hours of the night, woke up early and went to work, worked allllll day long, then came home. The thing that was different about this Saturday though was that I had a date! I got home from work and made myself all pretty. Then Scott came and picked me up. He brought the most beautiful roses!

After he picked me up we made our way to his apartment. He had cooked me a very scrumptious dinner. It consisted of chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. He had set it up all nice candle and all. After we ate he told me he had gotten the stuff to make sugar cookies (I don't know how he knew but that is the one thing I wanted to do most on Valentines day...make sugar cookies!) We made our sugar cookies that ended up turning out looking like amoebas. He then let me pick any movie I wanted to watch. Of course I chose a chick flick. It was one of the best Valentines day I have ever had!

I had no idea he had anything up his sleeve. The night before when I left his apartment he told me not to make any plans for after work. While at work I got it out of him that we were having dinner and a movie. He asked if I wanted to go out or if I wanted him to cook something. I let him decide. He told me that night he was planning on taking me out to dinner until he went to get his haircut. He was talking to the lady cutting her hair and he asked her if she was doing anything when she got off work. She said that she was just having dinner at home cause after working all day she didn't want to go out and do anything. His plans were ruined after that cause I had to work all day and he didn't want to drag me out anywhere thinking I wouldn't want to go anywhere. All-in-all he made a good choice. I loved my Valentines day!

This is Scott my date for Valentines day. (Don't tell Brianna I put this picture up or she will be mad ;) he he he)

Do I look stupid to you...??

Ok so for those of you who don't know I am working at Wal-Mart. So yesterday at work I was at register 20 (the tobacco register) and a guy came through wanting some chew. I went to get him the chew and told him we were out of that specific kind. He told me he would just take the double pack because it wasn't for him anyways. Ok well I had to tell him I couldn't sell it to him because I knew it wasn't for him and he could be buying it for a minor and I could in severe trouble for it. He then decided to act like I was stupid and told me he was then going to buy it for himself. I wanted to ask him, "Do I look stupid to you?? You just told me it wasn't for you! I am not stupid!" Well he got all angry and paid for the rest of his stuff and told me he would just go buy it somewhere else. Fine with me! I can't believe he thought I would really think he was then buying it for himself. Some people need to use a little common sense and think before they speak!

In the beginning...

I decided to start a blog so that my family and friends will be able to keep up on my life. This way everyone will know what I am up to. Things have been pretty crazy since I came here to college and even more crazy now that I have new roommates.

This is one of my new roommates Jessica. As you can tell we have a little too much fun when we get bored.
My roomie from the beginning Melodie! We moved in the same day and after having a little bit of a rocky start we are best buddies now!

I need to get a little homework done now before I go to work. I will update you on the other roommates another time.
